Today It's time for smart phone and and it comes in with OS like Andiron/Windows/Ios etc.. If you are using Nokia phone and planing to buy new Android phone but worried about taking back up of SMSes from old Nokia phone to Android phone then go by explained easy solution here.

Want to change your phone from Nokia to Android?

Well i had Nokia 5130c-2 music express and i moved to new Android Motorola Moto G phone, but i was thinking how can i take backup of all my SMSes (more than 2000) from Nokia to Android. It was looking very difficult to get it done.

How To Do It?

I spent almost a day online to find out exact and easy way to take backup of SMSes from Nokia and export to Android. i went through many blog forum but could not get exact step. I also went across few software but software was free for only limited few SMSes if you want to backup all your SMS then you need to pay for it.

After doing all this finally i found how to transfer all SMSes (around 2670) from Nokia to Android it and it's very easy. So now I'm going to share all the step here below, it's very easy just do it as mention below.

Step to Step details.

Step 1: Install Nokia OVI Suite (2.1). Pls note that install ovi 2.1 version only not the latest version. You can get Nokia Ovi 2.1 here.

Note: You Don't required to create account on OVI to use it so you can skip account creation.

Step 2: Connect your Nokia phone and click on Sync as shown in below image.

Note: click only on sync butter in messaging tab not on all tab.

Once you click on sync then wait for process to complete and then disconnect Nokia phone from system and close OVI suite. Pls note sometime your OVI will be still running even if you have close so you need exit application by going to you system tray.

Step 3: Now download Nokia2AndroidSMS. It is an application to convert your Nokia backup file in Xml format. Once you download and save  Nokia2AndroidSMS then you need to extract the file as it will zip file.

Step 4: Run Nokia2AndroidSMS application. It will be open as shown below.

Step 5: Now in first drop down list (Nokia Ovi Stores) drag and drop below link.

C:\Users\Ravi\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3 (This is the folder where all Nokia Ovi backup data will be stored)

Note: as Ravi is my user name of system so you will have to change it with user name of your laptop/system.

C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3

For example if your system user mane is Rohit then it should be

C:\Users\Rohit\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3

Step 6: Do not change any thing in second drop down list (Phone IMEI). Default it shows "All Phone".

Now click on "Convert" It will convert your Nokia phone data in .xml file and automatically save in Nokia2AndroidSMS folder extracted erlier.

Step 7: Now install app called SMS Backup & Restore to your android phone from play store it is developed by Ritesh Sahu and it's free.

Step 8: Now connect you android phone to your laptop/system. (select disk drive as connection type).
Now copy your xml file from Nokia2AndrionSMS folder to SMSBackupRestore folder to your phone. Normally it will be in sd card, If it is not there then you can create folder in sd card and copy it.

Note: If your phone is not having sd card support (As in my phone Moto G) then you can directly copy xml folder in internal memory inside Android/data folder you will find "com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore" folder just copy it it.

Step 9: Now open SMSbackup in your phone and click on "Restore" it will show you xml file just run restore.

Note: This app may ask you to make SMSbackup & Restore as default SMS app then click "yes" you can reset your mobile SMS as main sms app after importing SMSes through this app. If this app ask any other permission then click "yes" or "ok".

I Hope this will be helpful. Enjoy Cheer.

Declaration: Pls note that none of the above shared software are mine i have just shared the link so it can help to reader to transfer SMSes from Nokia phone to Android Phone.
